Online Purchases
All orders are final sale! No returns or credits will be issued for online purchases for any other reasons other than those indicated below. Effies.com is a Full Service Specialty Store retailer with a brick & mortar physical location where customers shop daily. When you place an order on our website we will treat you with the same care and respect that we extend to our in-store customers. Unfortunately, since we will not have the opportunity to meet you in person, you will not be able to receive the full extent of our passion for customer service. However, as an online customer please be assured that:
- we will do everything possible to make sure that your order is filled in a timely basis and that your shipment will arrive exactly when and how you expected.
- we will communicate with you personally after receiving your order BEFORE you are billed.
- we will address all important contingencies, including confirming that your item will be received in time for your wear date
- we stand behind this policy by extending a full return and credit policy if we ship you the wrong style, color, or size from what was ordered.
- we will issue a full credit if, due to unforeseen circumstances, your item cannot be shipped in time for your wear date and that we will inform you of this extremely rare occurrence in a timely manner.
But have no fear; our passion is for customer service. We assure you that your experience ordering from us online can only be surpassed if you come to our store to experience our outstanding customer service in person.
Please note that the prices that you see on our website reflect the Designer’s Suggested Retail Price [MSRP]. The designers that we represent do not allow their collections to be displayed on a website for a lower price than the MSRP price that you see on our website. If you see a lower price on any other website for the exact style from the same designer than you can KNOW FOR CERTAIN that website is producing and selling counterfeit dresses or gowns of inferior quality and shipping them as originals.
The prices in our store are not necessarily equal to the price on our website. We accept orders online to give our customers the convenience of purchasing their dress or gown directly from our website without the time and expense that we incur when you experience our outstanding customer service in our physical retail location.
We do everything we can to keep the prices on our website accurate and consistent with what the designer is charging for each style at the current time. However, it is possible that there may be a price on our website that is simply incorrect or that may have been changed by the designer without our knowledge.
If you purchase something on our website that is determined to be listed with an incorrect price we will correct the price on our website immediately and we will contact you to inform you of the error. We WILL NOT bill you until you have been informed of the corrected price. At that time you will have the opportunity to cancel your purchase or process a new order for the corrected price, which will be reflected on our website. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will we honor a price that is found to be incorrect on our website; this would be considered a breach of our agreement with our designers who do not allow their styles to be sold for a price less than their MSRP price.
Effies.com is here to make sure that each customer of ours is completely satisfied with their purchase and we take strong pride in providing the best customer service possible.
However, please be advised that dresses are final sale and cannot be exchanged or returned after the order has been confirmed. Special orders - which are the vast majority of orders placed on Effies.com - There will be no exchanges, refunds or credits given as well. As with special orders, once your order is processed, you will be unable to cancel your order, and you will be notified up-front at the time of your purchase that it is a special order. As the manufacturers are especially cutting the dresses for your special order needs; we are unable to cancel during this process, so the purchase must be completed. We inspect all dresses before shipping for any damages or defects. Of course in the rare event that there is anything wrong with your transaction or item, a representative from Effies.com would be happy to assist you on a case by case basis. We make it our goal here at Effies.com to ensure customer satisfaction, which is of the utmost important to us and our staff. Exchanges will be accepted in the event of a dress being damaged or if the wrong color or size was received, no cash/credit refunds will be given for any items purchased from Effie's. Items' must be sent back to us in the exact same received condition; No worn, damaged, or used merchandised will be allowed for return.
Please be sure to contact us as soon as possible so that a Return Authorization (RA#) can be provided for your return. No returns will be accepted without an authorized return by one of our sales agents. Customers are also responsible for paying the return shipping fee to send the item back to us. Please also note that shipping fees are non-refundable and will not be included in the credit amount given from any purchase on our site.
Please also be advised there will be a 50% re-stocking fee assessed for all canceled orders. This applies to any orders that are processed and we are notified of cancellation before the item has shipped out. Once the item has shipped to your location you are bound to except the item. If you need to cancel your order before it ships out, please contact us immediately and be aware that there is a re-stocking fee of 50% of the total item cost.
Jewelry and accessories may be exchanged for store credit only, and must be returned within 7 business days of receipt. Buyers will be responsible for return shipping. A gift certificate (store credit) will be issued upon receipt of the item if the buyer does not want to exchange it immediately.
Here at Effie's Boutique, we make it our goal to fulfill each order and provide exceptional customer service. Customers must be aware that as each manufacture creates thousands of different items, as styles and designs are constantly changing every year, it may be difficult at times to fulfill an order for older items. After an order has been placed, our store inventory is checked immediately as well as the manufacturers if the item is available for order. We will also contact you regarding a wear date for your item, which you can also indicate to us when your order is being placed. If there is an issue with your order, we will contact you immediately regarding the availability and the timely delivery of your item. If we cannot guarantee your item to you in time, you are entitled to receive a full refund and your order cancelled.
All our items are 100% brand new and genuine products delivered directly from the manufacturer’s. We have been an authorized retailer in the State of New York for more than 30 years. Shipping Policy:
All items purchased at Effie's Fashions will be shipped free of charge within the United States.
For items shipped internationally, we only use USPS Express Mail due to its very fast and secure delivery. All items are shipped with full tracking, including delivery confirmation, and up to $200 of automatic included insurance. There is currently a flat-rate charge of $49.99 for items shipped internationally with Express Mail, with an additional fee of $14.95 for each additional item.
Please also note that for all international orders over $500 of value, a Verified PayPal address is required, as well as the use of DHL Express Shipment Confirmation so that we can obtain a Signature Confirmation as required by PayPal and provided by DHL Express Services. Additional fees may apply, please contact us for further details.
Please note that Effies.com is not responsible for any taxes/duties/customs charges imposed by your country and shipping destination. These charges are out of our control, so please be sure to contact your country's postal service for better understanding of charges you may incur for importing and purchasing an item internationally.
If you require to have your item shipped to a separate location other than your billing address, please contact us as we will require you to fill out a credit card authorization form. Items that are shipped to the buyers' billing address need not worry about this, this only pertains if the buyer requests to have their item shipped to a secondary location address.
As a business in the state of New York, we are required to charge sales tax only for orders that are shipped within the state of New York. The current tax rate for all items is 8.875% in NYS.
